“The Challenge of Champions” The Story of Lane Frost & Red Rock

April 18 @ 7:00 pm

  • Tickets on sale Monday, March 6 at 10:00

Sometime in 1988, John Growney pondered a special competition between the two 1987 Champions. It was decided that Lane Frost and Red Rock would have seven showdowns at different rodeos in states across the West. The event was titled the “Challenge of the Champions.” Red Rock was brought out of retirement and Frost finally rode him to the eight-second whistle for a scoring ride for 4 of the 7 matches.

Lane Frost was an American cowboy and champion professional bull rider who won the 1987 PRCA World Bull Riding Championship.  He suffered a tragic accident at Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1989 which led to his death.

His memory is alive today in all the young bull riders that strive to be like him, and his fans who carry his champion spirit. With your support, his legacy will live on to be one of the most loved American cowboys in history.

Join us in viewing this prominent story in Round-Up history.
